Why the high gloss red paint cover white or paint without problems?
This red is red lighter than the kitchen was origianl painted. I do not know what kind of finish that was in the paint. We bought our Duron paint (Sherwin Williams). We put two hands, then prepared all the wall and put two layers on top (5 total layers). The painting is not without problems (you can see brush strokes) and has not covered either white patches (patches where nails used be). Any help on what we can try or what is going wrong?
The white spots, which are the putty or plaster? Were turnate too. Drywall, plaster, putty and other porous surfaces to aspire Primm and paint what is importaint to make sure they have enough layers of Primm stop them. The strokes may be in the paint underneath and is more evident in the color you have chosen. creates more shadows on the lines. What is also important is the drying and curing time inbetween times and layers of primer and paint. I also wonder whether the use was tinted primer? It should have been. If you used a different color or shade primer the kitchen you do not turn out the same shade of red. Also note that if proper sanding was not done after the holes were the plug or patch that will be displayed through. I hope this information helps. What you might have to do is see if there is a really turnate that can be used to cover the entire surface and can be sanded smooth if necessary. So get rid of lines and spots. Then again primed with a primer and then paint color. I hope everything works out good! Good luck!
